Q: There are people who have raised questions and concerns about health impacts of wireless systems, privacy of the data that the smart grid systems gather. How will this program address the social and ethical questions of Smart Grid?
A: Some of those issues are valid issues. Certainly, privacy issues are very valid. The health issues, I don't think are. If you look at the details; if you use a cell phone you're getting far more radiation than you ever would from a smart meter. They output about the same amount of radiation, but the smart meter's hanging on the side of your house; your cell phone's in your ear. So, you know, think about it.
