Change A Light Bulb

For years now, certain entities have been touting compact fluorescent lightbulbs as nifty energy savers well worth the extra cost and below-average light quality.

The problems with CFLs are many, not unlike the serious issues with wireless Smart Meters.

In Vermont, 5% of GMP customers have opted out of getting a radiofrequency radiation emitting Elster REX-2 model Smart Meter, in favor of their existing safe analog. That leaves a lot of households that have received or about to receive a unwelcome gift.

Do they know what substances join RFR in the list of Group 2B Carcinogens determined by the International Agency for Research on Cancer branch of the World Health Organization? Do they know that it signals at least every 10-15 seconds 24 hours a day and that those brief bursts of 915 Mhz RF are very disruptive to any complex biological system, like the human body? Do they know that Smart Meter signals sometimes hop through 50 different meters before reaching a collector or gatekeeper? What many Vermonters continue to believe is that Green Mountain Power's Smart Power program will magically save energy, emissions, and money and that using a cellphone is worse, and everyone uses a cell phone, right? And cell phones are fine, right?

This kind of blindered wishful thinking is also basis of CFL use. Some folks love them, which is fine. But now, on top of all the other problems with these curly-cue tubes of illness, a new study funded by the NSF has dissed them due to their tendency to leak ultra violet rays through cracks in the phosphorus coating. They warn that bulbs should have some kind of glass shielding and avoid being next to CFLs with exposed skin.

CFL bulbs cause skin damage - American Thinker

Where's the Consumer Products Safety Commission? Where's the Federal Trade Commission? Where's the FDA, OSHA, and any and all federal agencies, commissions, boards, panels, and roundtables that are supposed to protect us from products like this?

Are they trying to tell us that they are shoving these CFL bulbs down our throats and they never thoroughly tested their effects on human beings?

We might save the planet by using these low light, highly toxic bulbs -- a dubious premise but let's humor the greens on this one. But the human beings on the planet don't seem to rate as high a priority on the saving list. It takes a special kind of stupidity - or willful blindness - to carry off something like this. And the greens and their allies in government have it in spades.
